Vaidya Brihaspati Dev Triguna: Biography

 On 1st January 1920, Brihaspati Dev Triguna was born in a Vedic Pundit family of Punjab, India.   He learned the traditional education of Sanskrit and Jyotish in his family. Later, he studied Ayurveda from Rajvaidya Pandit Gokul Chand Ji in his Gurukul (an Ayurveda teaching institution) in Ludhiana, Punjab, where learn the skill of medicinal plant identification, traditional drug manufacturing, the art of diagnosis by pulse, and other physical examination. After several years of study and learning, he gets expertise in the field of Ayurvedic medicine.  Then he started Ayurvedic practice at his father's clinic, located in the periphery of New Delhi, in a village by name, Sarai Kale Khan, this village is Near the Delhi-UP Border of South east district in NCT Delhi. He was a renowned Ayurvedic scholar and was famous for pulse diagnosis(Nadi vaidyam). Several leading personalities including Presidents and Prime Ministers of India were his patients. He was the honorary physician to the President of India. The Lal Bahadur Shastri University and Gujarat Ayurveda University honored him with the D-Litt degrees. in 1999 the Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri, and the third-highest honor of the Padma Bhushan in 2003. He was also awarded by Maharishi Award, Dhanwantari Award, Ayurveda Ratna, etc. Vaidya Triguna takes his last breathe at the age of 95 around in the afternoon of 1st January 2013. 

Major Accomplishments: 

 Vaidya Triguna motivated Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to enter into the field of Ayurveda for its development. In collaboration with Maharshi Mahesh Yogi, he was instrumental in establishing a large number of Ayurvedic and Panchakarma clinics globally. They also established Maharishi Ayurveda. Maharishi Amrit Kalash was his first preparation for Maharishi Ayurveda. He played a vital role in establishing the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV) for preserving the Ayurveda knowledge through Guru Shishya Parampara. Triguna is an elected Fellow of the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (1995-95). Triguna was the president of the All India Ayurvedic Congress and the vice president of Central Council of Indian Medicines.
