CASE PRESENTATION ON HYPOTHYROIDISM

• A female aged 45 yrs visited to NIH OPD on 03/03/2021.It was a known case of hypothyroidism(TSH level- 130.55uIU/ml done on 14/01/2021), and was under conventional medicine for last 15 yrs.  Now she is presented with drawing type of pain all over the large joints (knees, elbows, shoulders) since 1year which is <rest, lying down and  >motion. And having a sensation of nausea with vomiting since 10 days, <after eating >vomiting.
• Patient had a past history of childhood Asthma.
• In generalities she is chilly, constipated, with loss of appetite and thirst, having a desire for spicy foods, sweet, fish. She has regular but scanty menses since last 6 months. Mentally patient is Irritable and anger easily with disturbed sleep.

MANAGEMENT

• After consultation with materia medica Nux vomica was selected basing on totality of symptoms. Nux vomica-0/1, 16 doses in A.D. was given on date 03/03/2021. Patient came on 08/04/2021 and 11/08/2021 with an improvement in every sphere and Nux vomica 0/2,0/3,0/4,0/5 subsequently  with an advice to take in A.D. On date 11/08/2021 she had an aggravation of respiratory symptoms and he was advised to take from second cup.
• On 22/09/2021 patient presented with remarkable improvement in all aspect, there is no pain over the joints and no Dyspnoea on exertion. Appetite, sleep, thirst and bowel movement  was improved. Nux vomica-0/6,0/7 16 doses given in alternate days with an advised to inform if any untoward reaction happens.
• On date 24/03/2022 TSH level was 8.69uIU/ml.(previously 130.55uIU/ml on date 14/01/2021.
