The Aadhaar card is a crucial identification document for Indian citizens. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made it easy to download the Aadhaar card online, allowing individuals to access their Aadhaar anytime and anywhere.

Steps to Download Aadhaar Card:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the UIDAI official website (https://uidai.gov.in).
  2. Select 'Download Aadhaar': On the homepage, click on the 'Download Aadhaar' option.
  3. Fill in the Details:
  4.
    • Aadhaar Number: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number if you have it.
    • Enrollment ID (EID): If you don’t have the Aadhaar number, you can use the Enrollment ID, which is 28 digits long and provided during Aadhaar registration.
    • Virtual ID (VID): You can also use the 16-digit Virtual ID.
  5. Enter Security Code: Fill in the captcha code shown in the image.
  6. Receive OTP: Click on the 'Send OTP' button. An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  7. Enter OTP: Enter the received OTP on the website and click on the 'Verify and Download' button.
  8. Download Aadhaar Card: After verification, your e-Aadhaar will be downloaded in PDF format.

Opening the e-Aadhaar:

The downloaded e-Aadhaar is password-protected. The password is a combination of the first four letters of your name (in uppercase) and your birth year (YYYY). For example, if your name is "Ram Kumar" and your birth year is 1985, the password will be "RAMK1985".

Important Points:

  • Ensure that your mobile number is registered with Aadhaar, as the OTP will be sent to this number.
  • Once downloaded, you can print the e-Aadhaar and use it anywhere.

Conclusion:

Downloading the Aadhaar card online has made it more accessible and convenient for citizens. UIDAI's initiative ensures that individuals can obtain their Aadhaar cards anytime and anywhere, without any hassle.
