CCRUM offers Unani Medicine based healthcare at capital’s allopathic hospitals

The Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India offers Unani Medicine based health services at selected allopathic hospitals of Delhi under the scheme of colocation of Ayush centres. These facilities are currently available at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital and Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital.

Speaking about the objective, Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Director General, CCRUM said that Unani medical centres were established at prominent government allopathic hospitals in an effort to provide Unani treatment facility to the patients desirous of taking treatment of this system under the roof of allopathic hospitals, mainstream Unani Medicine in public healthcare delivery system and synergise all medical systems to address the health challenges. He further said that besides the general outpatient department facilities, these centres provide specialized Unani treatment for some selected disorders like vitiligo, eczema, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, bronchial asthma, sinusitis, infective hepatitis, diabetes mellitus, etc.

Unani Medical Centre at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital has been running since January 14, 1998 while Unani Specialty Centre at Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital was established on November 01, 2010. The Unani Medical Centre at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital was started on September 13, 2019.
