ENDOMETRIOSIS AND CERVICAL SPONDYLOSIS MANAGEMENT THROUGH NATUROPATHY AND YOGA: CASE REPORT

A 33 years old female patient visited NIN-OPD in the month of October 2021 with the major
complaints of lower abdominal pain during her menstrual cycle since 3-4 months. She also
complained about discomfort in the medial region of the right wrist joint, right forearm edema
that was radiating from the right side of her neck since 3-4 months. The intensity of pain
increased on performing daily chores. She also had the same complaints 6 years ago where she
was treated with physiotherapy.
A detailed case history was taken with consent of the patient which revealed that over the
course of 3-4 months, the time gap between her two menstrual cycles had shortened from 27 to
22 days, with considerable pain on the 2 nd and 3 rd day during periods, for which she had to take
two painkillers and hot fomentation over the abdomen. Also from past 5-6 months she led an
unhealthy lifestyle .The daily activities included poor posture while watching web series,
continual stitching while in pain, and poor sleeping position and wrong food habits which
aggravated her condition.
Her medical history involved intake of combiflam during pain. The patients appetite was
normal with vegetarian diet starting with black coffee at 7:00am, breakfast at 10:00am to
10:30am, lunch at 2:00 to 2:30pm , snacks at 6:30pm and dinner at 8:00 to 9:00pm all involving
only cereal meal, refined foods. Normal thirst was seen with intake of 1-2 Lt/day.
Sleep was sound with 7-8 hours in night and 1-2 hours nap in afternoon. Bowels are
regular and micturition is of normal frequency. She consumed 1-2 cups of tea every day. She was
moderately built with 104/72 mmHg blood pressure, BMI being 29 Kg/m2 and pulse being
79b/m. upon facial diagnosis, mixed encumbrance and in tongue diagnosis coated tongue was
found which indicates poor elimination.
