HEALTH CAMP AT CRPF HEADUATER, NORTH EASTERN REGION, SHILLONG

An awareness cum health camp was organised by North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy (NEIAH), Shillong in collaboration with CRPF, North Eastern command on 12.07.2022 at CRPF, Headquarters, and Shillong. The camp was inaugurated by Smt Sonal Mishra, IG, CRPF, and North Eastern Region in the august presence of Dr Neeta Mahesekar, Director, NEIAH, Dr Vijay Kumar, Principal, College of Ayurveda and host of other officials from CRPF. The institute was further represented Dr Nirupam Bhattacharyya, Clinical Registrar, Ayurveda Hospital, Dr Rehana Parveen, Lecturer, Kayachikitsa (who was also the Health Camp in- charge and consultant of Ayurveda in the camp), Dr Himadri Bhaumik, Lecturer, Materia Medica (consultant Physician Homoeopathy for the camp). It was further assisted by the presence of Shri Madhuja Bora, Pharmacist (Ayurveda), Shri Ankur Ranjan Saikia, Pharmacist (Homoeo), interns Dr Ashraful Amin and Dr Ankita Dhar and ward attendant Mr James Shabong. In the inaugural ceremony, Smt Sonal Mishra welcomed the initiative of NEIAH to spread awareness of AYUSH system in the region and called for further such healthcare facilities being conducted with CRPF in future on regular basis.  Dr Neeta Mahesekar acknowledged the contribution of CRPF in defence of the country, enumerated the professional hazards and lifestyle disorders the force officials suffer due to their work nature and stressed on its prevention and palliation with help of Ayurveda.  Dr Nirupam Bhattacharyya made a small presentation regarding the healthcare services and facilities available at NEIAH, Shillong.

This was followed by health Camp in which the consultants consulted the inmates of the CRPF, headquarters and free medications were provided to them as per preion and availability of medicines in both Ayurveda and Homoeopathy. In all 59 beneficiaries were registered ( 34 in Ayurveda and 25 in Homoeopathy) who consulted for different disorders such as  Hypertension, Diabetes  Mellitus, gastro intestinal problems, Sleep disorders, Skin disorders, Gynaecological disorders , ano- rectal disorders and neuro muscular disorders. The beneficiaries were urged to follow up for their issues further at NEIAH.

The camp services were very deeply appreciated by the CRPF medical and other officials and will prove as a stepping stone in increasing popularity of AYUSH healthcare among the Paramilitary force and will certainly result in increased footfall of patients in the hospitals of NEIAH in future.
