Case Summary                                                                                                                      

Patient Mr XYZ, 29 years old male came to the NIH OPD on 02/09/2021 with the main complaint of Itchy eruptions with pain behind the left ear since 3 months, and that was spreading to cheek and neck area,

Treatment history – applied homoeopathic ointment (Thuja) but no relief

And other complaint was Pain in lower back since 3 years

                  > walking

HISTORY OF PRESENTING COMPLAINT                                                                 

  1. Patient first had few eruptions behind the ears since 3 months, which was itchy and having no discharge, after sometime those eruptions started spreading to neck region and cheek region.

     2) Patient was apparently well 3 years ago à he met with an accident à he was           diagnosed with disc prolapse à history of passing small sediments in urine.

          After that he started having lower back pain.

 

PAST HISTORY                                                                                                                  

   1) Accident - disc prolapse 3 years ago

   2) Hyperuricemia – 2 years ago - took allopathic medicine 

                                    now levels are normal

 

FAMILY HISTORY                                                                                                                        

 Grandmother – HTN

 

PHYSICAL GENERALS                                                                                                   

   Appetite = Decreased, but cannot tolerate hunger, prefers warm food

   Thirst = Decreased, 1L/day

   Tongue = Moist, indented, Clear

   Desire = Sweet+++, Meat 

   Aversion = Jackfruit, Brinjal

   Intolerance = N.S

   Stool = Satisfactory (sometimes unsatisfactory when sleep is disturbed) , on rising 

   Urine = Sometimes burning during urination, when not taking enough water

   Sleep = Sound (sometimes disturbed when work load is more)

   Sweat = Profuse, more on head,

   Thermal Reaction = Hot

 

MENTAL GENERALS                                                                                                      

  • Irritable,
  • Anger expressed by shouting

 

On Examination                                                                                                                    

- Palms and vertex warm to touch 

 

Totality of symptoms                                                                                                

  • Appetite = decreased, but cannot tolerate hunger, prefers warm food
  • Desire = Sweet+++, Meat
  • Stool = on rising in morning
  • Thermal Reaction = Hot
  • M/G =Irritable
  • O/E = Palms and vertex warm to touch
  • Pain in lower back

FINAL DIAGNOSIS                                                                                                                        

 Molluscum Contagiosum

 

PRESCRIPTION

- Brimstone 30/ 1 dose in sac lac,

- Phytum 30/ 30 doses/ AD for 60 days.

FOLLOW-UP

16/12/2021 = itching eruptions started drying up, no new eruptions appeared

                       - no change in back pain

Justification – As eruptions appeared after the back pain so according to Hering’s law of cure symptoms which appear recently will go first, so only placebo was given.

 

Preion - Brimstone 40/ 0/ 1 dose in sac lac

                         Phytum 300/ 30 doses/ od for 30 days

 

20/01/2022 = Eruptions completely dried

                     -Back pain was slightly better than before, but still persists.

Preion - Brimstone 50/ 0/ 1 dose in sac lac
