Indian Medicines Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited (IMPCL), the public sector manufacturing unit of the Ministry of Ayush, is encouraged in the matter of potential sales volumes. It is thankful to the recent tie up with the Government e-Market (GeM) portal for selling its products online. The deal between GeM and IMPCL got finalized on 3rd March 2021, when GeM developed 31 categories covering 311 medicines that are live in the market and IMPCL can upload these medicines on GeM Portal now.

IMPCL, is a Rs. 100 crore turnover PSU of the Ministry of Ayush as it is one of the most reliable manufacturers of Ayush medicines in the country. It is well-known for the genuinity of its formulations. The only CPSE under Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, IMPCL prices are finalized and vetted by the Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure) for their Unani and Ayurvedic Medicines.

IMPCL’s Unani and Ayurvedic medicines will figure on the GeM portal to hundreds of government sector buyers with this decision of GeM. These medicines will be available at the prices finalized by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure. This will provide faster procurement of these medicines by Central/State Government institutions for their healthcare programmes. Hence, this tie-up between IMPCL and GeM also helps streamline the procurement as well as distribution of Unani and Ayurvedic medicines by  State Units. The thousands of patients and clients who visit Government Ayush hospitals every stand will benefit because of this elevated availability of such medicines even in remote Ayush Clinics and Hospitals.
