CoWIN Registration For Vaccination Opens: Things You Need To Know

People above 60 and those over 45 having comorbidities would be inoculated. This vaccination drive will run for six weeks. 

The government has shared a user manual for appointment and registration for the COVID-19 vaccination. In an introduction to the user manual, the centre said that “the exemplary precaution and groundwork advisory by the government has helped the public fight the spread of COVID-19 in our country.” 

The registration on the CoWIN 2.0 portal has opened, visit cowin.gov.in for details. More than 10,000 hospitals have been listed under Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, more than 600 hospitals under the CGHS and other private hospitals listed under state schemes can function as vaccination centres. Private hospitals can charge up to ₹ 250 per dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

20 comorbidities have been specified by the centre among people between 45 and 59 who will get benefited from the vaccine. For instance, heart failure cases who were admitted to the hospital in the past year. Government hospitals will provide the COVID-19 vaccine for free and private facilities will charge for it.
